Alex Thayer has worked in the tech industry for more than twenty years. During that time, he has written thousands of emails, survived multiple reorgs, and consumed an inadvisable amount of microkitchen snacks.
Low Hanging Fruit, his debut novel, is a workplace comedy drawn from the absurd, intense, and occasionally soul-crushing reality of modern corporate life. It is the first book in the At the End of the Day series.
Alex has spent years in the tech industry studying how people work with technology. He holds a PhD in Human Centered Design & Engineering from the University of Washington, where his dissertation research explored how professionals collaborate using tools to create artifacts.
Alex lives in California and is currently in a meeting.
A workplace comedy about surviving corporate tech culture with your sanity intact. Available April 15, 2026.
