Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 17, 2026

This is the privacy policy for alexthayer.com ("the site"), the personal website of Alex Thayer, author of Low Hanging Fruit. It explains what information the site collects, how it's used, who it's shared with, and what choices you have.

The site is operated by Alex Thayer as an individual, not a company. It exists to promote a book and (occasionally) to collect email addresses from readers who want updates. It is not intended for children under the age of 13.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, certain information is collected automatically by third-party services embedded in the pages. This includes:

Information you provide

If you sign up for the email newsletter, you provide your email address (and optionally your first name). That information is stored by the email service provider (see below) and used only to send updates about the book and future work. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

Third-party services used on this site

The site embeds the following third-party tools. Each has its own privacy policy governing the data they collect:

Google Analytics (GA4)

Used to understand how visitors use the site (page views, sessions, referral sources). Google sets cookies and collects the automatic information listed above. See Google's privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram)

Used to measure the effectiveness of advertising on Facebook and Instagram and to show relevant ads to people who have visited the site. The Meta Pixel transmits automatic information (including IP address, browser, referring URL, and hashed identifiers) to Meta Platforms, Inc. See Meta's privacy policy. You can manage Meta's ad preferences in your Facebook ad settings or opt out of interest-based advertising via the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page.

Kit (formerly ConvertKit)

The email signup form on this site is hosted by Kit, an email marketing provider. If you subscribe, Kit stores your email address and any optional fields you provide. See Kit's privacy policy. You can request that your data be deleted from Kit by unsubscribing and contacting Kit directly, or by emailing the address at the bottom of this page.

Amazon

Links on this site that point to Amazon (including the "Buy the book" buttons and the geni.us redirect) may include tracking parameters that let Amazon associate a book purchase with a click from this site. Amazon's own data collection is governed by Amazon's privacy notice.

Geniuslink

Some Amazon links on this site pass through geni.us, a link management service that deep-links to the correct Amazon store for your country. Geniuslink collects click-level information (IP, device, country). See Geniuslink's privacy policy.

How the information is used

None of this information is sold. Email addresses collected through the newsletter are never shared with third parties other than the email service provider (Kit) for the purpose of sending the emails.

Cookies

The third-party services above set cookies in your browser. Most are used for analytics and ad measurement. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features of the site may not work correctly if you do.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights over your personal information:

To exercise any of these rights, email the address below. Requests will be answered within a reasonable time.

Data retention

Analytics data is retained for as long as the third-party services retain it under their own policies (GA4's default retention is 14 months). Email subscribers remain on the list until they unsubscribe or request removal.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and information is not knowingly collected from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, please email the address below and it will be deleted.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change. Material changes will be noted on this page.
